For years we only know that the TV uses analog signals and shaped tube or a tube or CRT (Cathode Ray Tube), which signals using radio waves are then translated into sound and pictures. And in some types of analog TV, the image is flickering with the picture quality to be down or not clear. This is because the analog images are fused because of the electron beam is fired only half of it is up to the TV screen and analog TV is only capable of displaying images with a magnitude resolution of 480 pixels so the image can not be displayed in the large-sized TVs.

Now the TV broadcast that began to be used is the Digital TV (DTV). DTV is the transmission signal using a code 01. In the on-air broadcasting, DTV transmitted using Ultra High Frequency (UHF) radio spectrum ranging from 6 MHz. The picture quality is very clear even in small-sized TVs. DTV reaches 704 pixel resolution so the picture remains clear despite appearing on the big screen. For video, because support high resolution, the display image per frame will not produce flicker. Differences with analog TV which when used for video and imposed on a large screen, the image will become blurry and disjointed. DTV also supports HDTV broadcasts.

Well, on HDTV (High-Defenition TV) itself, HDTV is part of the standard set for DTV. Standard is concerned with how the audio and video that can be translated and transmitted. So, not all DTV has the same quality as there are several levels of quality of DTV. And this HDTV is the highest standard of digital signals that exist at present. Possessed the lowest quality digital format is the highest quality possessed by analog TV.

DTV has a standard 4:3 aspect ratio while HDTV 16:9 (like those of the cinema screen). HDTV resolution can reach 1921 × 1080 pixels, and the lowest is 1280 × 720 pixels. While the DTV only reached 704 × 480 pixels only. That is, the number of HDTV 10x more pixels than analog TV. For the frame rate, arguably the same. But the most striking difference is the analog TV is not capable of displaying a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels at 60 fps.
