Mail Clerk - Jakarta


Basic Function of Position
- The job holder working under the supervision from Lead Mail Room operator is one of the three Mail Clerks assigned to the Mail Room.


Qualifications Required

- High School Diploma is required.
- One year experience working with mail is required.
- Level 2 (Limited knowledge) speaking/ reading/ writing in English and Level 3 (Good working knowledge) speaking/ reading/ writing in Bahasa Indonesia are required. Language proficiency will be tested.
- Must have basic typing skill; ability to follow simple instructions and regulations; ability to meet pouch deadlines pack, unpacks and lift heavy pouch/ mail.
- Must be able to drive a vehicle and have at least A driver’s license (SIM-A) – A copy must be attached to the applications.

Secretary - Jakarta


Basic Function of Position
- The job holder serves as secretary to the Transportation Officer and administrative assistant for the Shipment Supervisor/ transportation section; Time and Attendance keeper for Shipping and Travel Staff. Reviews and verifies invoices from shipping contractors. Maintain and updates Transportation web page. Act as back up secretary to supervisory GSO.

- High School Diploma is required.
- One year experience in a position related to travel service, transportation/ shipping industry, or related field is required.
- Level 3 (good working knowledge) speaking/ reading/ writing in English and Bahasa Indonesia are required. Language proficiency will be tested.
- Must have general knowledge of the shipping operation, export/ import processing procedures for diplomatic shipment and procedures for tracking shipments. Should be familiar with the format of telegrams, letters, and memorandum, and host country regulation on transportation.
- Must be able to type and use personal computer with Microsoft Windows application and Microsoft Front Page. Able to perform simple maintenance on office copier and fax machine.
- Must have the ability in dealing effectively with customers. Good disposition and tactful. Must be able to organize and prioritize workload.

Cultural Affairs Assistant - Jakarta


Basic Function of Position
- Under the direction of the @america Program Manager, and in coordination with the Assistant Cultural Affairs Officer for @america, the incumbents assist in creating and overseeing programs at @america – a high tech, 21st century public diplomacy outreach venue that targets Indonesian aged 15-30 and engages them in a new way. This project has high visibility both inside and outside the Embassy. The Program Assistants will work very closely with the @america Embassy team and the operations contractor to create dynamic, high-impact, relevant programming. They act as a back-up for other members of the @america Unit as required.


Qualifications Required

- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, American Studies, Economics, Sociology, Anthropology, Education, English, Media Studies, Public Relations, Communications, Business, Marketing, or liberal arts is required.
- At least two years of progressively responsible experience in cultural activities, higher education, teaching or related fields, or appropriate public affairs/ public diplomacy experience is required.
- Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/ Reading/ Writing English and Bahasa Indonesia are required. Language proficiency will be tested.
- Thorough understanding of social, economic, political, religious and cultural forces in Indonesia. Thorough understanding of the dynamics of US society, culture, history and institutions. Must be able to advise Indonesian and American supervisors on programs are needed to meet Mission objectives.
- Must have personal standing in the community and the intellectual ability to initiate, maintain, and develop contacts with high level officials in government, economic, political, social, educational, business, religious and cultural institutions and organizations. Must be creative and able to conceptualize and initiate innovative and complex program activities. Excellent managerial and organizational skills required. Ability to draft reports and correspondence in English. Ability to juggle many tasks and to assess problems and develop realistic solutions. Knowledge of social media tools is required.

Computer Programmer - Jakarta


Basic Function of Position
- The incumbent functions as a computer programmer in creating new and developing and updating available computer programs to suit the changing needs of the office and to prepare current event report for legislative staff in Washington.

- A Bachelor’s Degree in Informatics, Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Mathematics or Technology is required.
- At least three years experiences in application programming, web-page design, HTML, Internet/ Intranet.
- Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/ Reading/ Writing English and Bahasa Indonesia are required. Language proficiency will be tested.
- Must have deep knowledge in web design and programming. Must have deep knowledge in windows and database programming using following applications: ASP, HTML, VB and Java Script, MS.Net., MS Access, visual basic, SQL server.
- Must understand basic knowledge networking protocol and concept. Knowledge of Digital Image and Scanning technology. Must have ability to logic operation, flowcharting, coding and program documentation and testing. Ability to collaborate with other staff member in program design and coding.

Development Assistance Specialist - Jakarta


Basic Function of Position
- The job holder reports to the Resident Country Director, one of two U.S. direct-hire positions at post. The basic purpose of this position is to provide technical advice in designated sectors, and guidance to host government officials in implementing Compact projects to ensure successful completion of the program. Duties and responsibilities focus on working with the host country partners, both governmental and non-governmental, and providing technical support in assigned sector(s) to develop, implement and assess the effects of Compact programs to determine impact in reducing poverty.


Qualifications Required

- Masters degree in Economics, Social and Environmental Sciences, Natural Resources Management or related fields is required.
- Must have seven years of demonstrated progressively responsible professional level experience in the fields of social and/ or environmental science, natural resources, health sciences, or governance-related programs. Must have five years of demonstrated professional experience in project implementation work, social research and communication.
- Level 4 (Fluent) speaking/ reading/ writing in English and Bahasa Indonesia are required. Language proficiency will be tested. At this level, the job holder is required to possess the ability to translate bahasa Indonesia into precise and correct English, and English into precise and correct bahasa Indonesia.
- Must have expert working knowledge of host country applicable laws, by-laws, legislation and decrees as well as policies pertaining to renewable energy, environmental protection, and/ or social protection. Must have an extensive knowledge in managing project development with several stakeholders including government agencies and international donors, and solid technical knowledge of the concepts and principals of health and nutrition, Green Prosperity, and/ or procurement systems.
- Must have ability to establish and maintain an extensive range of contacts with ministerial and high level officials of the Government in Indonesia (GOI), other USG interest offices and non-government counterparts; must have ability to obtain, organize, analyze, evaluate and present information and to draft clear, concise reports which are factual and analytical in nature; must have ability to interpret and communicate Indonesian priorities and concerns to senior MCC officials; must have ability to conceptualize and design the scope and objectives of planned MCC activities and communicate those to senior levels of the Mission, Agency, senior GOI officials and international donors; must have ability to obtain significant host-country economic, political and social trends and assess their impact on the developed assistance provided to the water sector; must have the capacity to understand the goals of the GOI, educate key senior counterparts, including Ministries, on innovative approaches and activities to water sector issues: must have exhibited expertise and professionalism in high level discussions with GOI, NGOs, grantees and contractors providing technical guidance in the development assistance programs in Indonesia related to the water sector and the environment in addition to interpreting host-country attitudes, priorities and concerns to senior management.
- Must have computer skills in specialized software including operating system and the office applications.
